Nearly a year later and we are back on the blog with a catchup of what’s going on over at Merry Happy Studios. This is going to be another super visual post. 🙂
Does this picture look familiar? It should because the previous blog post also started out with a pic similar to this. Once again Merry Happy Studios was showcasing our goods at the Bust Craftacular @ Maker Faire this year. We didn’t have any rain but it was a big dusty weekend. Either way it was fun and great seeing the reactions to our new products; especially from kids who are unrestricted with their emotions.
First in the new products list, which is not for kids but that didn’t stop them from exclaiming “We should get that for Daddy!”
Adding to the line of Grandma tote bags, I debuted 2 new grandpa “drinks” totes. COFFEE + BEER. Yum.
I created a bunch of tiny gift-able items that kids could afford. Things like postcards, pin back buttons and stickers. ^_^
These were eaten up! So happy about that.
More pictures to come in a follow up post… Going to force myself to get back on track with this blog.
And finally wanted to mention that I launched a brand new web shop 1-2 months ago. Other than my etsy, you can now buy directly from http://merryhappystudios.com/
Thanks for stopping by and being patient with my post!
Memories from this summer
And of course some new things I have done/created

Guess what this lady has been up to?
Woot! Wearable art! I’ve been developing my brand and characters these past 6 months and I’m super excited to reveal this. This is the first new product of mine in a while and I am so happy with the results. It is also a new medium of mine to play with so look out for more in the future. Also notice the new logo. A website is in the works as well as possibly some PVC figures. Crossing my fingers that the brain juice will continue to work and get inspired. ^-^
The design on this shirt was based off of a tiger plushie I made 2 years ago for a art gallery show. It was inspired by my first trip to China with my family and I saw all these amazing folk art. Xiao Fu is in the same set of designs as Boba pig below. They will be an entire line of animal people as well. 😀
Here is a picture of me after I ripped apart the box and immediately put on the shirt in it’s instagrammed glory.
Also would appreciate some love on my facebook page. It’s lonely.
I recently brought a new camera. A Olympus E-Pen PM1 to be exact. I wanted to upgrade my point and shoot to something that will take crisper detailed pictures without the price and size of a DSLR. I’m liking it so far. The only down point to it is that the indoor shots are not that great. It has a red/yellow muted hue to it and still hard to fix in photoshop. In the daylight here are the results I got.
Reprinted these little guys because they were so popular.
Anything with a yellow tint seems hard to translate on this camera.
Parfait postcards. Did a bit of retouching to this pic.
So far these are all pictures of product shots I needed to take for my shop. I’m heading on out to China this coming April. Maybe I can share my beautiful pics then. And for those in the New York City area, I’ll be at the Spring Anime festival at NYU’s Polytech campus. Hope to see some familiar and new faces. I have a booth there as an artist and it will be my debut at a convention 🙂

Happy Early Chinese New Year! It’s the year of the dragon and considered to be one of the luckiest animals/creatures. May the year of 2012 be a year of prosperity, health and love!
Here’s of what I’ve been up to. ^-^
Nona Shopping List memo pads. Printed on 70lb linen paper. Super Awesome, super cute!

I clearly lack the motivation to blog once a week. I’m working the grown up gig now. Doing 9-5 at a big publishing firm. But I vow to you, 2012 will be a better year of updates. Here’s the first post of the year filled with lots of sketches. (and some finals) ♥
Professor Buttface says… Series
I’ll be putting prof. buttface in a series of illustrations based off of famous quotes in books.
First up is Candide. “Excellently observed,” answered Candide; “but let us cultivate our garden.”
X-Files and Me
I recently brought season 1 of the X-files. So I decided to make a mini comic about it. This is the first 2 panels. HA. Text is TK.
Bacon hair Grandma
